| I have been playing Neopets off and on since 1999. I remember all the old art, I remember shops always/almost always being in stock, I remember cheap paintbrushes.
In all that time, I never once had a lab map.
And I am so close to getting my first one, I can taste it. I just need about 120k more. You better bet I am playing games like a fiend to get there. You better believe it.

| I'm posting here because (I hope) some of you will understand.
Anyway, I'm trying to save up for a Faerie Paint Brush. They're currently going for over 3mil and I have about half of that saved up. Now for my problem: I keep finding things I just have to buy. Two-for-one prices on usukis? Check! Good deal on the usukicon y11 background? Check! Good deals on hard-to-find usukis? Got 'em!
Now for my question: How do you stay strong and save up to your goal and not spend it all on the latest shiny thing to hit Neopets? Any tips are needed, as I'm perilously close to spending it all. *bites nails*

It looks like snorkle snouts are going for 310-350k atm and I put mine up for 310k. Someone just offered me a bat kebab for it instead, which seems to go for 450-550k. Do you think I could turn around and sell it for like 400k, or are they really hard to sell? | |

Currently her form of amusement was to sit in Lucius' chair with a glass of some important wine he has collected, sipping at it lightly and ignoring the elves who tried to remind her that her sister was not home. Her eyes drift over the manor almost curiously, she likes this place most times, it was large and nicely decorated. A sigh escapes her lips as she drains the rest of her glass and tosses it in the direction of an elf.~ One of these times you will fail to catch it just as your master walks in the door, and I will find great pleasure in watching him beat you for it.

| Ryan Seacrest Holds Contest For Free Show By Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta
'American Idol' finalists will perform at city with the most votes in 'Ryan, Rock My Town' contest.
Unless you checked out one of this summer's "American Idol" tour stops, your chances of seeing finalists Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta performing on the same stage together anytime soon are pretty slim.
But thanks to "Idol" host and Prince of All Media Ryan Seacrest, your dreams could come true one more time. Seacrest launched the "Ryan, Rock My Town" contest on Tuesday, promising fans the chance to vote for a show in their hometown by the season-eight trio. Using the Demand It! widget — which greasepaint rockers Kiss used earlier this year to route their current tour — Seacrest is promising the city with the most votes a free concert.
At press time, the list was topped by the usual suspects, with New York, Los Angeles and Chicago leading vote-getters, and Little Rock, Arkansas — not far from Allen's hometown of Conway, Arkansas — pulling up at the #4 spot. The rest of top 10 is also dominated by major cities: Boston, Dallas, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston and Atlanta.
The contest is slated to run through December 18. Only one vote is allowed per person, and a random drawing of entries will determine who wins a pair of tickets to the show. While the promotional image for the sweepstakes features an image of all three, the contest rules only name Allen and Lambert as performers for the concert.

| 'Glee' Stars Talk Soundtrack, Christmas Single, Solo Careers

Fox's new Wednesday night juggernaut "Glee" has not only made a huge impact on the television landscape but is also turning the music world on its ear. Every Thursday morning, the songs from the previous night's episode are posted to iTunes and immediately fly up the singles chart. This week, the show's first compilation, Glee: The Music, Volume 1, debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard albums chart.
The compilation features fan favorites like "Don't Stop Believin' " and "Bust Your Windows," but the cast all agree that one tune in particular is the highlight.
" 'Somebody to Love' is my favorite," castmember Lea Michele (who plays Rachel on the show) told MTV News.
"I would say the same thing," added Cory Monteith (Finn). "I have no original thoughts of my own."
"I'm a huge Queen fan," Michele said. "I think Freddie Mercury is one of the greatest performers of all time. So singing it was awesome, and I think as a group it was the first time we felt really good together. We really became a unit."
Michele and Monteith both love the soundtrack album because it shows just how diverse and talented the cast of "Glee" really is. "No matter how good a singer you are, it's tough doing all these different genres at once," she explains. "So one week you're doing Rihanna and the next week you're doing Celine Dion."
Considering the success of the show and of the first soundtrack, it's no surprise that Volume 2 is already set for release on December 8. That compilation will feature "Glee" versions of the Pretenders' "I'll Stand by You," John Lennon's "Imagine" and the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want."
Also in the works is a special Christmas single that the cast is recording this week. "They told me what song we were doing, but I honestly forgot," admits Amber Riley (Mercedes). "But it's a traditional Christmas song."
Riley added that this only represents the beginning of recorded output by the "Glee" cast. Matthew Morrison has a solo album in the works and the rest of the cast will get their shots as well. "We met with the head of Columbia Records, and he told us, 'All you guys are so talented, and you're all going to put out albums and be huge,' " Riley said. When she gets the opportunity, she will already have her wish list of collaborators in mind. "I would reach out to Jazmine Sullivan and to RedOne. And you know what? I would love if John Mayer would write me a song. I am one of his biggest fans. Continuum is, like, the album of my life." | |
